28.9.1 Particularidades en frases negativas

En el capítulo anterior hemos visto que little y few se utilizan sobre todo en frases afirmativas. En frases negativas se usa más bien much y many.

little not much; hardly any
few not many; hardly any

Ejemplos
I only have little money.
= I do not have much money.
= I hardly have any money.
They said only a little.
= They did not say much.
= They hardly said anything.
Few people like thunderstorms.
= Not many people like thunderstorms.
= Hardly anybody likes thunderstorms.
There were only a few apples in the basket.
= There were not many apples in the basket.
= There was hardly any apple in the basket.
